What is Sentrepact?

Student Entrepreneurs in Action — Sentrepact — is a dual credit program designed to mobilize high school students to make a difference in their communities while developing the skills to become socially responsible business leaders.

  • Students have the opportunity to learn essential business skills in the classroom and apply them through hands-on partnerships with local businesses
  • Students will apply business concepts presented throughout the course to develop outreach projects that improve the quality of life and standard of living for people and communities in need

Program facts

  • Sentrepact began in 2014 when Southwest Baptist University students created an organization comparable to their own Enactus program.
  • Sentrepact is currently implemented in both Lebanon and Bolivar High Schools in Missouri.
  • Sentrepact students work on projects throughout the year and then participate in an annual competition at the end of the course.

SBU's involvement

SBU's Enactus team strives to empower high school students to implement business practices into their communities. The SBU team will partner with the high school teams through communication, providing ideas, support, and encouragement. Through this process, SBU will assist with partnerships made by each Sentrepact team. SBU will maintain consistent contact with teachers and students in the Sentrepact program to ensure progress and provide support.

Bring Sentrepact to your school

By joining Sentrepact, your school will be able to equip your students to:

  • Learn essential business skills
  • Enjoy hands-on experiences
  • Impact their local community
  • Distinguish themselves from other high school students

To learn more about starting Sentrepact at your school, contact Dr. Levi Bridge, SBU Enactus Advisor, at (417) 328-1758 or lbridge@SBUniv.edu

Sentrepact competition

The Sentrepact course ends with an annual competition held on the Southwest Baptist University campus. This process provides teams with the opportunity to present their projects to a panel of judges who assess the teams' effectiveness in seeking opportunities, taking action, and enabling progress.

This competition creates, encourages, and rewards students for their efforts of promoting economic growth within their community.
