Southwest Baptist University’s final exhibition of the 2015-2016 academic year features artwork by senior SBU art department majors graduating this May. Southwest Baptist University’s final exhibition of the 2015-2016 academic year features artwork by senior SBU art department majors graduating this May. The show debuts April 18 and runs through May 14. An artist reception will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 14.

The show will feature a compilation of pieces produced by the students throughout their time in the art department. Featured students include:

  • Eric Rosenkrans, a commercial art major with a double concentration in graphic design and digital imaging;
  • Andi Bland, an art education major;
  • Abby Norcross, an art education major whose work is pictured;
  • Micah McQuerry, a commercial art major with a concentration in graphic design; and
  • Diane Denton, a general art major.

This show will represent a variety of mediums, including painting, drawing, ceramics photography, printmaking, fibers and graphic art.

“What I love the most about this show is that these students are displaying a well-rounded knowledge of many different mediums,” said Dawn Katzer, instructor of art and director of the Driskill Art Gallery. “The students have decided to display a variety of their work, not just works from the area in which they are basing their careers or their particular emphasis.”

The Driskill Art Gallery, situated on the SBU campus in the Jester Learning and Performance Center, is free of admission and open to the public on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
