Letterman to raise suicide awareness during Sept. 7 Chapel

The week of Sept. 5-11 is Suicide Awareness and Prevention Week and Southwest Baptist University welcomes Jana Letterman as she shares her story during Chapel at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, in Pike Auditorium.

Letterman, a speaker, consultant, trainer and author of “The D Diary: The Story of a Girl’s Struggle Through Depression & God’s Transforming Power,” has been deeply impacted by the suicides of two family members. Her mission is to educate and minister to those who personally struggle or know someone suffering with depression or suicide by ending the stigma, increasing awareness and communication, educating and providing support, according to her website.

Letterman received her bachelor’s degree from Drury University and her M.B.A. from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, and is North Point Church’s “There is Hope” group leader.
