Southwest Baptist University students have nominated five seniors as candidates for Homecoming Queen and five candidates for Homecoming King. These candidates have been selected by their peers, and the winning King and Queen will be announced at the homecoming football game at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23.
The Barnett-Padgett Literary Artist Series of Southwest Baptist University will be presenting poet Aaron Belz in a reading of his work at 6 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 28, in Rohrs Auditorium of the Taylor Center on the Bolivar campus.
The Southwest Baptist University Department of Music welcomes guest artists Dr. Martin McCain and Dr. Artina McCain as they perform solo and duo repertoire for trombone and piano at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 21, in the Meyer Recital Hall of the Casebolt Music Building on the Bolivar campus.
Southwest Baptist University dedicated the Robert W. Plaster College of Business and Computer Science and re-dedicated the Gene Taylor National Free Enterprise Center in a ribbon-cutting ceremony held Thursday, Sept. 7, outside the Taylor Center on the Bolivar campus.

Dr. John Hardin will be the featured speaker at Southwest Baptist University's Constitution Day at 10 a.m., Friday, Sept. 15, in the Joe Roberts Room of the McClelland Dining Facility on the Bolivar campus.
Southwest Baptist University will host the annual Homecoming parade at 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 23. Local businesses and organizations are invited to have a float in the parade.
Southwest Baptist University's Doctor of Physical Therapy and Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) programs are partnering to enhance the learning of social work students on the Bolivar campus, as well as expanding services for area residents.
