In celebration of, and the preparation for, the inauguration of Southwest Baptist University's 25th President, Eric A. Turner, Ed.D., on Friday, April 26, a number of events commemorating the occasion were held throughout the week.
The Department of Music of Southwest Baptist University will present its annual Masterworks Concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 3, in Pike Auditorium on the Bolivar campus.
The William and Kathy Brown Guest Artist Series will present Duo MemDi in concert at 7:30 p.m., April 26, in the Meyer Recital Hall on Southwest Baptist University's Bolivar campus.

Southwest Baptist University's Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) organization had nine students qualify for the PBL National competition after an outstanding finish at the PBL State Leadership Conference on April 13 in Springfield.

Liberty Utilities - Empire District recently delivered a $15,000 check to Southwest Baptist University that is part of $30,000 pledge toward the $175,000 renovation of the Lloyd & Frances Randolph Meditation Chapel.

About 260 students from southwest Missouri elementary and intermediate schools gathered at Southwest Baptist University on April 8 for the Missouri Council of Teachers of Mathematics (MCTM) Southwest Regional Competition hosted by the SBU Department of Mathematics.
