Dr. Kevin Hopkins, Southwest Baptist University mathematics professor emeritus, recently gave three presentations on the use of generative Artificial Intelligence in Math and Science Education. His first two presentations were titled "What is AI?" and were given at Interface 2024 on September 28 and October 1.

BU's competitive programming team, made up of Cybersecurity senior Jacob Minder (from Kansas City, Missouri) and Software Engineering junior Elijah Daugherty (from Fair Grove, MO), secured first place in the highly competitive Hack Midwest Hackathon, outshining 25 other teams to place first in the Collegiate Division of Hack Midwest. The event was held in Kansas City, Missouri, between 28th and 29th September 2024.
