SBU Honors Program students present capstone projects
Nine students in Southwest Baptist University's Gordon & Judy Dutile Honors Program presented their Senior Honors Capstone Experience projects during an open house May 5.
Southwest Baptist University's Enactus team advanced to the semi-final round in the Enactus USA national competition in St. Louis May 15-17, placing the team in the top 20 in the nation. The team previously won the regional competition in Rogers, Ark., April 18, to advance to the national competition that started with nearly 200 teams.
SBU presents awards to nursing, radiography and health science graduates
Southwest Baptist University awarded 149 degrees in nursing, radiography and health sciences during a May 12 ceremony at Second Baptist Church in Springfield. Students receiving degrees at this ceremony have studied at the Mercy College of Nursing and Health Sciences of SBU in Springfield.
Southwest Baptist University conferred 220 undergraduate and 265 graduate degrees during two ceremonies Saturday, May 14, on the Bolivar campus. Another 149 degrees were conferred Thursday, May 12, in Springfield to graduates of the Mercy College of Nursing and Health Sciences of SBU.
The Southwest Baptist University-Mountain View campus celebrated its 30th anniversary on May 6. The celebration was attended by current and former students, current and former faculty and staff, community members and other supporters.
Southwest Baptist University honored David and Betty Cribbs of Bolivar and their family with the official dedication and naming of the David and Betty Cribbs Athletic Practice Facility Thursday, May 5.
Nearly 650 students will graduate from Southwest Baptist University during three commencement ceremonies -- one held Thursday, May 12, in Springfield and two held Saturday, May 14, in Bolivar.
Tarah Goodknight, a Southwest Baptist University student in SBU's Gordon and Judy Dutile Honors Society, has been awarded the Distinguished Member Scholarship from the National Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society. Goodknight, a biology major from Princeton, Mo., currently serves as co-vice president of the SBU chapter of Phi Eta Sigma.
