Congratulations on your admittance to Southwest Baptist University! We are so excited that you have pursued SBU as a college option. Our admissions office looks forward to getting to know you better and helping guide you through the rest of your college decision process.

With more than 80 areas of study, we know you can find your place at SBU! SBU is a wonderful environment for you to grow spiritually, excel academically, and thrive socially. You will graduate with a solid education preparing you for your chosen career field and equipping you to carry out the Great Commission.

Portal Site

Now that you officially have been admitted to the University, you have access to the SBU Admitted Student portal site. We encourage you to utilize this tool; it will be a wealth of knowledge to you.  Upon being admitted to SBU, you should have received an email with instructions showing you how to log onto the portal. You can access the portal by clicking on the “MySBU” link at the top of our website. You will be prompted to enter the username and password you were assigned in your email. Below are some next steps to take to learn more about SBU, secure your spot in classes and housing, and to maximize your financial aid opportunities now that you have been admitted to Southwest Baptist University.

1) Schedule a Personal Visit

We invite you to come visit SBU for a personalized visit of our campus. You can receive a campus tour, one-on-one meeting with your admissions counselor, meet with a faculty member, sit in on a class, and so much more! Come spend some time on campus and discover how you can find your place at SBU!

2) Engage with SBU on Social Media

Share your excitement about your acceptance to SBU on social media by using our hashtag #SBUniv. Follow SBU (@SBUniv) on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. And check out what other people are saying about SBU on "The Hub" at social.SBUniv.edu.

3) Submit Your FAFSA

To receive any state and federal financial aid for which you may qualify, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and have it sent to SBU. You will then receive a customized financial aid award letter from SBU.

You can begin the FAFSA as early as January 1. We recommend you submit the FAFSA by February 1 to maximize your financial aid opportunities.

4) Attend Bearcat Days

Make plans to attend Bearcat Days, an admitted student event held at SBU the weekend of March 3-4, 2017. You will truly get to experience life as an SBU student as you spend a night in the dorms with a current student host, meet other future Bearcats, interact with faculty, and more!

5) Send in your Enrollment Deposit

Ready to secure your spot in classes and housing? Make it official by sending in your $200 nonrefundable enrollment deposit. This deposit is a prepayment on your tuition and will reserve your spot in classes and give you the opportunity to sign up for campus housing. Ask your admissions counselor if you have any questions!

6) Attend Summer Orientation

Save the date for Summer Orientation - attend on either June 10 or June 26 to receive your class schedule for the fall, learn about Welcome Week and meet your future classmates!

7) Sign Up for Welcome Week

You won't want to miss out on Welcome Week, our new student orientation event before school begins. During Welcome Week you will make new friends, grow spiritually, and begin making the transition to life at SBU.
