Southwest Baptist University's campus in Mountain View, Mo., provides quality higher education close to home for residents of Howell County and surrounding areas. Southwest Baptist University offers several graduate degree programs, several of which offer online courses and convenient scheduling. SBU Graduate Studies include a Master of Business Administration degree, a Master of Arts in Christian Ministry degree, and multiple Graduate Education programs (master's, specialist and doctorate).

Application Process

To apply for admission to the SBU-Mountain View campus, please complete the online application. You must also submit the following:

  • Official high school or homeschool transcript or copy of GED
  • Official academic transcripts from all previously attended colleges
  • ACT/SAT/CLT scores

Cost and Financial Aid

Tuition and Fees, 2020-21

Tuition and lab fees are due before the first day of the semester unless other financial arrangements have been made in advance.

Tuition (per credit hour) $190
Technology fee per semester:
  • 12 or more credit hours
  • 6-11 credit hours
  • 1-5 credit hours
Assessment fee:
  • Full-time students
  • Part-time students


Other fees may apply to specific courses (such as science labs, computer lab, etc.)

A finance charge of 9% per year is assessed on all balance due past 30 days.

Financial Aid

To receive a customized financial aid package and receive any financial aid for which you may qualify, complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at SBU's recommended deadline for submitting the FAFSA is March 15 for the following academic year. Be sure to include the SBU school code (002502) to have your FAFSA sent to SBU.

Once you are admitted to SBU, you will receive an SBU email address and access to the MySBU Admitted Student Portal. You need to check your SBU email address often, for important information, especially related to the online process for approving and finalizing your financial aid award.

Submit your FAFSA


You may purchase textbooks for your courses beginning two weeks before the start of the term. Textbooks must be paid for when placing order and can be purchased online through the SBU Bookstore.


  • Class Schedules — You must meet with an advisor prior to enrolling. Call (417) 934-2999 to schedule an appointment. Enrollment continues through the first day of the semester. You are enrolled in class at the time of registration. You will be notified if there is a course cancellation fee. The University reserves the right to cancel any course if enrollment is insufficient. All tuition and fees will be refunded in the event of a canceled course.
