Wellness Programs

The Jane and Ken Meyer Wellness Center and its staff are devoted to helping provide great fitness opportunities to its members. With health care costs climbing to record highs and obesity numbers growing every year it is important to keep an emphasis on wellness. We invite you to participate in one of our many programs or classes that are offered this semester. Come out and enjoy the great facilities and bring a friend!! Let’s get SBU “on the move” towards fitness!!

Cat's Health Assessment and Motivation Program (Champ)
The CHAMP program is designed to put students and members through a variety of tests that will help them determine their current fitness level. Each session will last around 30 minutes. Testing should be redone every 3-4 months to check progress.

Workout Program
The Workout program enables students and members to obtain points by working out.  A point can be earned by working out in the Wellness Center for 30 minutes on that particular day.  A maximum of one point can be earned per day.  One qualifies for points by working out in the weight room, in a class in the aerobics room, in the pool, on the running track, on the rock climbing wall, or playing racquetball. 

America on the Move
America on the Move is a website devoted to helping you get in to shape and stay in shape.  You simply log on, and log your activities.  They do the rest. This program is not provided by the Wellness Center and the Wellness Center does not necessarily agree with all the stances taken by the website.
