Why I enjoy teaching: "I enjoy teaching at SBU because of the amazing students, the supportive faculty and administration and the opportunity to integrate faith into my discipline. I love being in an atmosphere that encourages a challenging curriculum and that provides opportunity for small group and one-on-one learning."

Educational and Professional Background: Langford is expected to graduate in December 2009 with an Ed.D. Higher Education Leadership degree from the University of Arkansas. In addition, she has earned a Master of Science in Mathematics from Missouri State University in 2002, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Mathematical Sciences from Texas A&M University in1992.

Langford started teaching in 1993 at Buffalo High School, in Buffalo, Missouri as a high school math teacher for eight years. Later, while pursuing a master's degree, she taught math at Missouri State University, followed by one year as a math instructor at Ozark Technical College.

Langford began her career at SBU in 2003 as an instructor in the University Success Center. When the Honors Program started in 2005, the director responsibilities were added to her position. Langford enjoys working with honors students and with first-year students.

Faith Dedications: "My faith is in my Savior, Jesus Christ. I am an active member at Alliance Christian Fellowship, a non-denominational church in Bolivar, Missouri."
