Michael Shawley, Resident Director of Maupin Hall
Hello from Bolivar Missouri. My name is Michael Shawley and I am the Resident Director of Maupin Hall. I live in the dorm myself and enjoy hanging out and talking with the guys. I think Maupin Hall is an excellent place for young men to come and build meaningful relationships with one another. It is a dorm known – first and foremost – for its community and desire to respect traditions old and new.
I enjoy reading, cooking, soccer, and playing music. In the past I have had the opportunity to travel into Eastern Europe, India and work as an English teacher in rural Taiwan. I have learned a great deal from these experiences and I hope to convey their significance to others. My Bachelor Degree is in History, but I’m hoping to soon begin work on my Master’s Degree.
I have never regretted serving the Lord and I strongly feel my primary purpose as an RD is to empower men to act upon their most noble ambitions. I believe students are called to expand their minds to the greatest extent possible while retaining the faith that has been imparted to them. May God be with you.
