Current Research Projects: Reeves is currently seeing several publishing projects through various stages of completion. One will appear in Lifeway's Biblical Illustrator, five short articles will appear in Baker Bible Dictionary, and a chapter will appear in A Noble Calling, edited by SBU colleagues, David Whitlock and Gordon Dutile and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers, 2008.

In addition, Reeves is working toward the publication of his next book entitled Following Paul: How to Carry the Cross of Christ. This forthcoming publication of Wipf and Stock Publishers is written for laity and ministers and is similar to his book entitled, A Genuine Faith: How To Follow Jesus Today, recently published by Baker Books.

Reeves recently saw the appearance of his colaboratively written college textbook, Rediscovering Paul: An Introduction to His World, Letters and Theology published by InterVarsity Press, 2007. His two co-authors were from Ouachita Baptist University and Houston Baptist University.

Why do I enjoy teaching at SBU? "College is where I learned to think about the big questions: Who is God? What do I believe? What do I have to give? Therefore, I enjoy trying to give what I have received from my teachers (past and present): to inspire students to think through what they believe and learn what they should do. College students have a passion for life, a sincere desire to learn, and an insatiable appetite for God. Men and women called to minister the gospel of Jesus Christ want to serve the Church and work for His Kingdom. I’m grateful that I belong to a community of learners who want to try to help each other fulfill this noble purpose: to follow Jesus with all that we are."

Educational and Professional Background: Reeves is a graduate of Southwest Baptist University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, in Ft. Worth, Texas. He has also had additional studies at Oxford University, UK.

Reeves' professional experience includes teaching at Williams Baptist College, Walnut Ridge, Arkansas and as Senior Pastor of Central Baptist Church, Jonesboro, Arkansas.
