Current Research Projects: Jones received the 2005-06 Faculty Technology Fellowship and is researching Wireless in the Classroom.

He has also published numerous Bible studies for Interl'inc. He is a contributing author in the Convention Press publication Fake Answers and the Student Discipleship Training Network. He recently published a research article in Youth Ministry Update.

Why do you enjoy teaching at SBU? "I enjoy teaching at SBU because I love students. I love to equip them to be Kingdom builders."

Educational and Professional Background: Jones holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Studies Education from Louisiana Tech University, Ruston, Louisiana. He has earned a Master of Arts in Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Fort Worth, Texas. He has earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Ministries from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He was licensed to the ministry by the First Baptist Church, Minden, Louisiana. Jones has twenty-one years of experience in Christian education.

Jones has taught undergraduate and graduate courses: Introduction to Christian Education, Youth Ministry in the Church, Children’s Ministry in the Church, Adult Ministry in the Church, Principles of Teaching, Church and Denominational Administration, Contemporary Youth Issues, Purpose-driven Youth Ministry, Youth Education in the Church, Apprenticeship in Christian Education, Old Testament History, New Testament History, The Gospel of Mark, and The Synoptic Gospels.

Dr. Jones has taught undergraduate and graduate courses at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, B.H. Carroll Institute, Rockbridge Seminary, and Dallas Baptist University. He has led conferences for Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Tarrant Baptist Association, and Rockbridge Seminary.

Faith Dedications: Jones has served as a minister in six churches in Louisiana, Texas, and Missouri. Jones is a member of Baptist Association of Christian Educators, Youth Ministry Educators forum, and In-Service Guidance Association.
