“The friendships I’ve made at SBU are so meaningful to me. I know that even as life takes us in different directions we will always stay in touch and somehow remain a part of one another’s lives. One of my fondest college memories is participating in the 2006 Homecoming parade. Two of my close friends and I were taking a fencing class at the time and decided to apply our knowledge of hand-to-hand combat to our dorm float. Thus the Fighting Pirates around the Leslie Hall float were born! Dressing up, acting crazy, cheering for our dorm and our school was just so much fun. Winning dorm float that year was an added benefit.”
