Southwest Baptist University

Tim DeClue

“Our faculty insists on knowing the names of every single student majoring in our department. Formally, we see our students in class, in homework help sessions and in mentoring times. Less formally, we see students on campus and around town. I have always given my home phone number to my students and encouraged them to call if they run into difficulty completing some work I have assigned. Frequently I will receive emails that begin with ‘I’m up in the lab. Do you have a few minutes to help…?’ New students are sometimes surprised that I will walk in the lab door within a few minutes of receiving their message. These sorts of encounters are where real education happens — from person to person, mentor to student.”

Managing the Costs

Southwest Baptist University has earned national recognition as one of America’s 100 Best College Buys®, and we have been named among the schools with Americas Best College Scholarships®. We achieved this distinction in part by offering a generous program of scholarships. In fact, the average student’s financial aid package at SBU is over $10,500. Our admissions counselors and financial aid officers are available anytime to help work out the finances that will allow you to enroll at SBU. In addition, SBU offers payment plans to help you manage the cost of your education.
