Academic Scholarships
J.R. Maupin Founders Award
The J.R. Maupin Founders Award is SBU’s most prestigious academic scholarship. Named for our founder, it is valued at approximately $60,000 over four years. To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, students must apply and be accepted to the University Honors Program. The scholarships are awarded to the top five scholars in the incoming class of the University Honors Program. Eligible students will receive the scholarship application shortly after admission. All J.R. Maupin applicants are guaranteed the Ingman Distinguished Scholars Award. Students must be enrolled full-time, maintain a 3.250 cumulative GPA and maintain participation in the University Honors Program for annual review. Deadline for application: December 31.
Ingman Distinguished Scholars Award
The Ingman Distinguished Scholars Award is valued at $8,000. Students must be enrolled full-time at SBU to be eligible to receive this scholarship. Rewards are based on a combined GPA /ACT calculation.
Board of Trustees Scholars Award
This academic scholarship is valued at $6,000. Students must be enrolled full-time to be eligible for this scholarship. Rewards are based on a combined GPA /ACT calculation.
Presidential Scholars Award
The Presidential Scholars Award is valued at $5,000. Students must be enrolled full-time to be eligible for this scholarship. Rewards are based on a combined GPA /ACT calculation.
SBU Achievement Grant
The SBU Achievement Grant is valued at $2,500. Students must be enrolled full-time to be eligible for this scholarship. Rewards are based on a combined GPA /ACT calculation.
