Meet Courtney Toler
Degree: B.S. in Management and Marketing
Alma Mater: Southwest Baptist University, 2010
Years of Admissions Experience: 6 years
Hometown: Richland, Missouri
Family: My husband Sheldon, also an SBU alum, is a loan officer for the Bank of Bolivar. My parents live in Richland; my mother is also an SBU alum and it was fun to follow in her footsteps. My brother, Aaron, is a current SBU student and is married to Rachel, an SBU alum. My husband has a large family that lives in the area and it is fun to have them so close.
Hobbies: Shopping, going to antique stores, doing puzzles, and hanging out with friends and family
What SBU means to me: SBU means home to me! This is where I met my husband and so many lifelong friends. This is where I was blessed to get an outstanding education. This is where home is, and I am so thankful to be able to say that!
Tips for success in your first year at SBU:Don’t be afraid to approach new people or get involved. You have to remember that all of the other new students are going through the same exact experience as you are. They are probably just as nervous as you are and people are generally more nice and welcoming than you would think, especially at SBU. You will be so thankful you stepped out of your comfort zone when you look back years from now on all of the wonderful friendships you have.
Favorite college memory: There are too many to choose from! More than anything I really enjoyed all of the many wonderful lifelong friendships I was able to develop. I would not be who I am today without having them in my life.
Favorite thing to do in Bolivar:I love visiting the antique stores in town to see what hidden treasures my husband and I can find!
