SBU Announces Phi Eta Sigma Scholarship Recipient

BOLIVAR, MO – Southwest Baptist University announced that Jordan Hodges, a senior religion major from Odessa, Mo., will receive a $1,000 undergraduate scholarship award from the Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society. This scholarship is to be used for full-time undergraduate study during the 2008-2009 school year.

BOLIVAR, MO – Southwest Baptist University dedicated a classroom in the Jim Mellers Center in honor of John and Ruth Marshall Tuesday, April 22, on the main campus in Bolivar.

SBU Faculty Member Co-Authors Textbook on Paul

BOLIVAR, MO – Southwest Baptist University announces that faculty member Dr. Rodney Reeves is one of the authors of a new textbook on the apostle Paul. The textbook, Rediscovering Paul: An Introduction to His World, Letters and Theology, was co-authored with David B. Capes and E. Randolph Richards and published by InterVarsity Press.


SBU to Dedicate Jim Mellers Center Renovation

BOLIVAR, MO – Southwest Baptist University announced it will dedicate the renovation of The Jim Mellers Center on Monday, September 24, immediately following a special chapel service at 10 a.m. in the Pike Auditorium on the Bolivar campus. The time for the dedication is 11:00 a.m. SBU’s renovation of the 22,000-square foot Jim Mellers Center was completed this summer.

BOLIVAR, MO – During its spring Board of Trustees meeting May 9, Southwest Baptist University gained approval for a complete renovation of the Jim Mellers Center, which houses The Courts Redford College of Theology and Ministry.
