BOLIVAR, MO –Southwest Baptist University’s Redford College of Theology and Ministry announced that Zach Manis, assistant professor of philosophy, has successfully defended his doctoral dissertation at Baylor University.

Dr. Manis’ dissertation, “Virtues, Divine Commands, and the Debt of Creation: Towards a Kierkegaardian Christian Ethic,” addresses issues in religious ethics. The dissertation aims to develop an account of moral obligation based on the writings of the nineteenth century philosopher and theologian, Sǿren Kierkegaard.
