SPRINGFIELD, MO─St. John's College of Nursing's I Love Nursing Day will be held Saturday, February 28, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the College of Nursing and Health Sciences, 4431 S. Fremont, Springfield. The special event is open to anyone regardless of age or background who is interested in pursuing nursing as a career.

St. John’s College of Nursing and Health Sciences dean, Dr. Carole Eldridge says, “The U.S. is in the midst of an acute shortage of nurses that gets worse by the day. The job opportunities for nurses are enormous and varied, even in a recession. With our I Love Nursing Day, we hope to encourage people who are interested in nursing, by providing information about the important work nurses do."

Continuous sessions throughout the event will include information regarding admission requirements, scholarship and financial aid, cost of nursing education, and a one-on-one opportunity to meet and talk with faculty, current students, and graduates.

According to the college of nursing’s admissions coordinator and event planner, Karen Campbell, “I Love Nursing Day, is set up to be a one stop shop, where questions can be answered, and opportunities can be shared.”

Representatives from St. John’s Human Resources, Student Nurse Association, and St. John’s Life Line air ambulance service will also be available.

A pizza luncheon will be provided. Anyone planning on attending should RSVP to Karen Campbell at 417-820-3272 or kcampbell@sbuniv.edu no later than Friday, February 20th.
