FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Prepare Ye the Way for Godspell

The Southwest Baptist University Theatre and Music departments bring to life one of the most successful Broadway and off-Broadway shows of all time, Godspell.  The show will run from March 10-13 at 7 p.m., and March 13-14 from 2:00 p.m. in the Davis-Newport Theatre at SBU’s Bolivar Campus.  For ticket information, call the SBU Theatre Box Office at 417-328-1691 or visit www.sbuniv.edu/theatre.

Godspell was originally created by John-Michael Tebelak and Stephen Schwartz (composer of the mega-Broadway hit Wicked).  According to Director Dr. Elissa Sartwell, “Godspell is the captivating, enjoyable, must-see family production this year.  The show enacts parables and stories based on the Gospel of Matthew and will be presented by a colorful cast of singers and actors.”

The cast includes:  Adam Keller, a senior music major,; David Ezzell, a junior church music major; Alyssa Phinney, a junior music major; Lauren Potts, a junior communication arts major; Levi Fox, a sophomore Biblical studies major; Amy Marrs, a sophomore music and psychology major; Samantha Thomas, a sophomore theatre major; Danielle Peterson, a freshman theatre major; and Jeff Allen Young, a freshman theatre major.

Ticket prices are $7 for adults; $5 for SBU alumni, senior citizens, and students of other schools; and $3 for SBU students.  Advance tickets are recommended.
