BOLIVAR, MO – The Chorale of Southwest Baptist University will present its Fall Concert at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 10, in Pike Auditorium located in Mabee Chapel on the main campus in Bolivar. Admission is free and a reception for the audience will be held backstage following the performance.
The repertoire for the evening includes pieces by Dan Forrest, Sydney Guillaume, Greg Jasperse, and other contemporary composers. The eclectic repertoire covers a gamut from Renaissance selections to a speaking chorus.
The Chorale is a selectively auditioned mixed choir whose repertoire regularly spans over 500 years of music history. The choir has performed extensively throughout the country and the world. Next March, the Chorale returns to Europe for a nine-day performance tour of Austria and Prague.
The ensemble recently presented performances at the Missouri Baptist Convention meeting in Kansas City as well as fall appearances in the St. Louis area. The choir is under the direction of Dr. James Tarrant, director of choral studies and professor of music.
