SBU Barnett-Padgett Literary Artist Series welcomes Thomas Lux

BOLIVAR, MO --Award-winning poet Thomas Lux will present a reading of his works at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25 in Meyer Recital Hall in Casebolt Music Center at Southwest Baptist University.

Lux was the 1995 winner of the Kingsley Tufts Poetry Award for his sixth poetry collection, Split Horizons. His poems are featured in American Alphabets: 25 Contemporary Poets and many other publications. He was a finalist for the Los Angeles Times Book Award in Poetry and received three National Endowment for the Arts grants and the Guggenheim Fellowship.

He currently holds the Bourne chair in poetry at the Georgia Institute of Technology and is the head of the Poetry at Tech program.

Lux’s visit is sponsored by the University’s Barnett-Padgett Literary Artist Series. Admission is free and the event is open to the public.
