BOLIVAR, MO –Southwest Baptist University President Dr. C. Pat Taylor sent the following prayer request to the SBU Family this morning:
Please pray for the family of Dr. Fred Winters, senior pastor of First Baptist Church, Maryville, Illinois, who was shot yesterday morning during their church service. Dr. Winters was a 1985 graduate of SBU. He received his B.A. in Religious Studies, and was a member of the speech and debate team. He has been the pastor of FBC Maryville since 1987. Please pray for his wife, Cindy, his two daughters, and the rest of the Winters family. Pray for his church, and also for several of our students who are members of this church in Illinois.
