SBU SIFE to co-host “Give Thanks and Give Back”
BOLIVAR, MO –The Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) chapter at Southwest Baptist University and the Polk County Health Center will host a new “green” initiative project, “Give Thanks and Give Back” from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at the Bolivar High School Gym.
SBU Joins Top 15 in U.S. Mid-Central Region Battle of the Brains
BOLIVAR, MO – Southwest Baptist University’s top competitive programming team grabbed a spot among the top 15 teams in the U.S Mid-Central Region (Missouri, Arkansas, Illinois, Kentucky, and Tennessee) on Saturday, Oct. 24 as a part of the IBM-Sponsored International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC). The team, composed of Jacob Williams (Senior, Hume, Mo.), Andrew Cook (Senior, Kansas City, Mo.), and Aaron Meyer (Senior, Springfield, Mo.) completed five of nine problems in 290 minutes to claim the second highest finish in school history. SBU’s second and third teams finished in 30th and 37th place, respectively, in the field of 140 teams.
SBU Hosting IBM-sponsored Battle of the Brains
BOLIVAR, MO – Southwest Baptist University will host the 34th annual IBM-sponsored Association for Computing Machinery International Collegiate Programming Contest, also known as The Battle of the Brains, on Saturday, Oct. 24, in the Wheeler Science Building on the Bolivar campus.
SBU Faculty Member Top Ten in CMA Test
BOLIVAR, MO – Jenell Wagner, new assistant professor of accounting at Southwest Baptist University, is an SBU graduate and a world-class scholar. According to SBU accounting department chair, Wayne Clark, Wagner earned a "top ten score" in the world for the fall 2008 Certified Management Accountant test group.

BOLIVAR, MO – Southwest Baptist University’s College of Business and Computer Sciences (COBACS) invites local businesses and the community to participate in an internship and career fair from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Oct. 9, in the Intramural Gym of Jane and Ken Meyer Wellness Center located on SBU’s main campus.
