Why do you enjoy teaching at SBU?
I love the feeling of family at SBU. I work with colleagues who love their students and love what they do. Our students are the kind of young men and women I want to see leading our country and our churches in the coming years.
Educational and Professional Background:
Dr. Hicks earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from Auburn University, and a Master of Church Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. She is an active participant in the Baptist Church Music Conference and currently serves the organization as Educational Vice President.
Faith Dedications:
Dr. Hicks attends First Baptist Church of Bolivar, where she serves as Children's Choir Coordinator and plays flute in the church orchestra.
