The music faculty at SBU is pleased to announce the return of the annual Ozark Honors Music Festival, February 15-16, 2013.
With outstanding leadership by Dr. Brian Hopwood and Dr. James Tarrant the 2013 Festival promises to provide excellent experience for all participants. Honors musicians will perform in the Honor Choir and Honor Band, and will have the opportunity to perform in master classes, take private lessons with SBU instrumental, piano, and vocal faculty, hear college-level recitals, attend seminars on subjects such as jazz improvisation and preparing for contest, and audition for Music Performance Scholarships for SBU’s Department of Music.
The complete festival will be a one-and-a-half day event. Students will arrive on campus on Friday afternoon and the final concert featuring the Honor Band and Honor Choir will be held on Saturday afternoon.
The deadline for applications is February 1, 2013. The cost for each student is $50.00. This fee includes meals, lodging, instructional materials, master classes, and a Festival T-shirt. Payment is due in full ($50.00) with the application. No refunds will be given unless the student is not selected to attend. If you have further questions about the Festival, please call (417) 328-1644.
