The Education Specialist in Educational Administration
Southwest Baptist University offers an Education Specialist in Educational Administration specifically designed to prepare students for leadership roles at the district level. This program provides the basis for the recommendation to district level administration.
The program has been developed in accordance with certification requirements established by the State Board of Education of the State of Missouri. Hence, the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) as well as the NCA Higher Learning Commission have approved the educational administration program. Following successful completion of the approved program and the national test, students will receive recommendation as a district level administrator.
The Educational Administration program is coordinated and administered through the Office of Graduate Studies in Education at SBU. The Coordinator of the Educational Administration program is responsible for the day to day concerns of the Educational Administration program.
The Education Specialist degree leads to recommendation for certification as a district level administrator. For admission into the Educational Specialist program students must currently hold a master's degree and hold a valid teaching certificate with at least five years of teaching experience.
