Master of Science in
Educational Administration


Southwest Baptist University offers a Master of Science in Educational Administration specifically designed to prepare students for leadership roles at the building level. This program provides the basis for initial certification as either an elementary of secondary school principal with the opportunity to complete the coursework for middle level endorsement.

The program has been developed in accordance with certification requirements established by the State Board of Education of the State of Missouri. Hence, the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) as well as the NCA Higher Learning Commission have approved the educational administration program. Following successful completion of the approved program and the national test, students will receive certification as a building level administrator.

The Educational Administration program is coordinated and administered through the Office of Graduate Studies in Education at SBU. The Coordinator of the Educational Administration program is responsible for the day-to-day concerns of the Educational Administration program.
