Patron Account (to see your patron record) |
To view your
SWAN library patron account you must create a PIN number.
Click on the VIEW YOUR LIBRARY ACOUNT link on the
lower portion of the SWAN library catalog webpage. On
the next screen create a PIN number. If you need
assistance ask library personnel to help you. |

Proxy Login
needed for Library Databases
when using then off-campus |
This login is available for
students who are enrolled in the current term and current
employees. To get this login, call, email or stop by
the Circulation & Reserves Desk at any of our University
Libraries and have your current SBU I.D. card ready.
You will be asked to provide the barcode number and we will
verify that you are currently enrolled or employed.
Once authorized we can provide you with the Proxy
login/password for the current term and answer any questions
you may have about using the proxy. The proxy changes each
term so if you need it next term remember to contact us to
get the new current proxy. |

SBU Network Student Account
|
Username:
Each student has a unique ID number. This number is located
on your student ID card which you should have received
during Welcome Week registration. The number is located
directly below the picture on the ID card. The ID number
used for DormNet, Network, Netmail e-mail and Blackboard is
the last 6 digits in the ID, without the leading zeros.
EXAMPLE: If your ID shows
0123456,
then the Username to use for
your login is 123456.
Password: The
initial password is your birthday, eight digits. MMDDYYYY ,
EXAMPLE: 02031971
You will not be prompted to
change your password. You will need to go into your student
e-mail and follow the “Changing your Password” instructions
below to change your password. |

Employees will
be given username/password information when they are hired.

Account |
The student
e-mail at SBU is called Netmail. As a student of SBU, you
are given an SBU e-mail account. To access this e-mail
account you can go to
http://netmail.sbuniv.edu, or go to SBU’s homepage,
http://www.sbuniv.edu,
My SBU, and then click the link Netmail. The Username is
your Student ID number, six digits, dropping the preceding
zeros (123456) and your Password is initially setup to your
eight digit birthday. (MMDDYYYY). Your e-mail address will
be sent to you via e-mail when you login for the first time
to Netmail. |
| BlackBoard
Account |
Blackboard is a
portal that gives you access to coursework and online
communities. To get to Blackboard, you will need to go to
http://www.sbuniv.edu
and click on the MySBU link. Your Username and Password for
Blackboard is the same as your Netmail Username and
Password. You no longer have to enroll in the courses that
you are taking through Blackboard, this is automatically
done for you. If you have any questions about Blackboard
please call 417-328-1535. |
| WebAdvisor |
You can access
personal SBU Account information through WebAdvisor, such as
grades, account status, and class schedules. You can access
WebAdvisor by going to
http://www.sbuniv.edu, click on My SBU, click on the
link Web Advisor. . |
| Changing Your
Passwords |
You can change
your password for Netmail, and Blackboard, in Netmail.
Follow the instructions to get into student e-mail. Once
you are in Netmail look at the top left corner. You should
see three boxes. Click on the one in the middle (options).
Change your password. Your new password needs to contain
eight characters. Make sure that you hit the save at the
bottom of that page. |
