This service is
available to anyone with a current SBU identification card or a
current guest library card. If a particular book or article that
you need is not available in our library, we will be happy to
request it from another library through the Interlibrary Loan
program.
REQUESTING BOOKS
If a book is available
from a SWAN-MOBIUS library it should be requested through the
University Libraries' catalog rather than through interlibrary loan.
Generally the delivery time will be much shorter than other
methods.
If the book is not
available through SWAN-MOBIUS member libraries you have two
other ways to request books.
BEST CHOICE:
Use our
OCLC WorldCat
database to locate the book you would like to receive.
Click on the ILL button. This should bring up a form which
you can fill out and submit.
LAST RESORT:
You
may
fill out a
generic ILL form which requires
you to know the citation information for the book you are requesting.
Do not use this form until you have searched our OCLC WorldCat
first.
REQUESTING ARTICLES
If the article you want is not available online
or in your local SBU library holdings you may request a
photocopy of the article be obtained for you through ILL.
FOR BEST RESULTS:
Use our
OCLC ArticleFirst
database to locate the citation for the article you need.
Click on the ILL button. This should
bring up a request form which you can fill out and submit.
The University Libraries staff will process the request and
notify you when the article is available to be picked up.
This process may take 7 or more days. There is usually a small
charge for the photocopying. Copyright restrictions may
apply.
ANOTHER OPTION:
You
may
fill out a
generic ILL form which requires
you to know the citation information for the article you are requesting.
The University Libraries staff will process the request and
notify you when the article is available to be picked up.
This process may take 7 or more days. There is usually a small
charge for the photocopying. Copyright restrictions may
apply.
