Materials Acquisitions

 

Library Instruction

Bibliographic instruction sessions are designed to fit your course needs.  Library faculty will provide this instructional service in the library, in an electronic classroom or your regular classroom, as appropriate.

  • Contact the Bibliographic Instruction Librarian

  • Information Literacy Curriculum

  • Library Orientation Tours

  • Course Integrated Modules

  • In-library, In-classroom or Electronic Classroom sessions available

  • Library assignments; traditional handout or WWW accessible class-related material

  • Electronic classroom (L137) may be scheduled for library sessions

 

Faculty Reserves

Faculty may place print and/or media materials on reserve in the library for current classes.   Materials may be chosen from the University Libraries collection or from personally owned materials.   Reserve items are processed Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Allow 48 hours for materials to be processed and placed on reserve.

 

Media Services

University Libraries provide students, faculty and staff with a variety of media equipment, media resources and media services to support and enhance student learning.  The library media collection includes video, DVD, CD, scores, cassette tapes and other media resources.  There are over 9,000 titles in this collection.

 

Some of the Services Available in Media Services

Some services are free and others are fee-based.  For further information contact Media Services at 328-1627 or 328-1561.  The following is a list of some of the most popular services offered.

  • Color photocopying and printing

  • Binding, plastic report covers & spines

  • Color photocopying and networked high resolution color laser printer

  • Ellison die cutter and die sets

  • Duplication of audio & video tapes & discs*

  • Media Services equipment booking for circulating equipment

  • Lamination

  • Listening and viewing stations

  • Transparencies, Black & White or Color

*University Libraries Media Services reserves the right to refuse any request that violates copyright law or applicable university policies.

 

Copyright Information

The University Libraries provides access to copyright information resources.  We cannot  give legal advice. Library personnel will abide by all university and library policies as well as state, federal and international copyright laws in library matters such as acquisitions, reserves, duplication, etc.

 

Research Assistance

Research assistance is available for faculty.  Contact the Research Assistance Desk at the Springfield Campus or Hutchens Library in Bolivar.  Mountain View and Salem faculty may call 1-800-743-5774 Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or email one of the following librarians:

University Archives is located in the Harriett K.
