December 1, 2005

Dear Friends,

It seems that I am finally home. I know that Alisha and I landed in the US on the 26th of November and then in St. Louis on the 27th (due to travel delays) but I have not been able to write until today.

As many of you already know, I have been in the hospital. How's that for a welcome home? Starting when we had flight delays in Dallas, I had a temperature and started feeling ill. After my parents and friends picked me up at the airport, I was able to come home just long enough to discover that my temp was 104.7 F! Needless to say, I ended up at the hospital instead of at my house.

After three and a half days in the hospital and numerous tests, the doctors diagnosed me with 2 different types of parasites and a bacterial infection in the bowels and a skin infection on my forehead. They let me go home on Wednesday around noon. I am feeling better but I am still having headaches from the lumbar puncture they did on Sunday evening. This means I spend most of my time lying flat on my back.

Thank you for all of your prayers for my continued healing. Please pray the headaches will stop. Also, pray for me as I write my final evaluation paper. Pray for Alisha, as she was feeling fine when we first arrived home, but is now starting to feel ill.

Praise the Lord for the people with whom I was able to share  in the hospital, even though it wasn't under the most pleasant circumstances. Praise the Lord that I am finally at home. Praise the Lord for all the people who have called to give their encouragement and prayers.

Grace and Peace, Christiana
