November 17, 2005 - What's next? That is the question I find myself asking right now. What's next in my life? Yes I know I am supposed to go home and finish school, but where am I going to go next? Where will I serve next? Will I come back to Africa?
November 11, 2005 - These are just a few lines from a song by Third Day. I think it is called "Mountain of God." It is on one of Christiana's mixed cds and it has really helped both of us throughout our time here.
November 4, 2005 - Progress is the theme of my email this week. My semester is slowly coming to an end, and this week I have thought a lot about the progress that has been made since we came to Africa just 6 months ago.
October 28, 2005 - I want to take this time to praise God for his grace during our language exam on Wednesday at 3:30pm.
October 21, 2005 - This week is full of praises!! God is doing so much here in Africa! The first praise is that we finished Jula school this week!
October 14, 2005 - One of my favorite things about being here is being able to spend time with Dad Ouattara. The main reason I love spending time with him is because he reminds me of my dad back home.
October 7, 2005 - This week was the beginning of Ramadan. For those who don't know, Ramadan is a time in the Islamic faith where Muslims are required to fast from sun up to sun down for a month.
September 30, 2005 - So, God is amazing. Things are really moving here in Bobo! I was very encouraged to hear Momma J tell me about discipling Natasha.
September 23, 2005 - So this week has been short, but good. It has been short in the sense that we haven't been in Bobo for very long and good because we were able to get away. A vacation in Africa means so much more to me than a vacation in America.
September 14, 2005 - It is amazing how things can change in a week. This week has been a lot better. A lot of that has to do with the fact that we only had a four day week this week. Tomorrow we are heading to Ouaga with Tom and Diane, and then Saturday we are getting up early and going with our friend Kathy to visit the Bisa
September 9, 2005 - So, today makes 78 days until I am in St. Louis! I am very excited about that not because I am homesick, but because I am kind of just ready to be American again. This week and last week have been very exhausting for me.
September 2, 2005 - Ok everyone, brace yourselves. What I am about to tell you may send tears to your eyes, or you may be overjoyed with smiles. The past couple of weeks I have asked you to pray for my friend Natasha.
August 26, 2005 - Hey everyone. So, today there are 92 days until I am back in St. Louis. Crazy, huh? Well, Wednesday marked our half way point, and Thursday marked the day where we have more days behind us than ahead of us. This excites us, not because we don't like being here, but because we miss our friends and families. You all are amazing and your prayers are needed here in more ways than one.
August 19, 2005 - Hey everyone! This week has been a lot better as far as homesickness. Christiana received a package on Tuesday which excited us, and I received some letters on Thursday! Mail is wonderful. It hasn't changed even since I went to Africa. I still love getting mail!!
August 12, 2005 - Okay, it is official. I am homesick. I say this not for a pity party, but for your prayers. I know that this is a part of being on the mission field, but it is something I have never felt because all of my former trips were a month or less.
August 5, 2005 - Hey everyone, rest assured that I am feeling better. Those were the longest three days of my life. It was a rough week and having to be in bed for three days was not my cup of tea by any means.
July 29, 2005 - Hello Everyone,. This entry comes to you from one who has suffered a long drawn out case “I don’t feel good,” and “I don’t know what’s wrong with me.”
July 14, 2005 - Hey guys. So it is only Saturday night and there are already things that I want to write to you. Father has been really great these last couple of days. I have been reading through 2 Corinthians and finished it about a week ago.
July 8, 2005 - Hey everyone. So this week has been good. I have been feeling a lot better. Amen to that. I finished my worm medicine Wednesday and hopefully they will not come back.
July 5, 2005 - Hey everyone! So, before I tell you what is wrong with me, I want to tell you how awesome Father is. In my last e-mail I had you pray for Momma J.
June 24, 2005 - Ani tile! (Good afternoon in Jula) I just wanted to write and let you all know that I have finished my fourth week of language school, and my month home stay will end on Wednesday.
June 10, 2005- Hey everyone! An ni wula (that means good evening in Jula) Well, I am not sick, praise the Lord!! Things are going very well.
