Clinical Education Facilitator
he Department of Physical Therapy at SBU is seeking one individual to join our dynamic entry-level doctoral curriculum as a Clinical Education Facilitator. This new staff position has been created to meet the growing demands of our program starting in the academic year 2012-13. We have recently moved into the Warren B. Davis Family Physical Therapy Center with 27,000 square feet of dedicated state of the art teaching and learning facilities. We have been blessed with tremendous facilities and superlative service minded students.
Responsibilities:The primary responsibility of the clinical education facilitator is to nurture the bond between the SBU Physical Therapy program and the external clinical education community to ensure a sufficient number of clinical placements are present annually both in quality and quantity. A secondary responsibility is to assist with the accreditation processes and presentation of relevant data.
Qualifications:The ideal candidates will possess an earned academic degree in a physical therapy related field and be self directed, organized and efficient in carrying out responsibilities and tasks. The candidate should possess good interpersonal skills to work well with people both individually and as a team. The candidate should be knowledgeable in use of Windows, computer applications, word processing, spreadsheets, and database. Previous experience and understanding of the clinical education process is highly desired. Previous experience in health care and education accreditation processes is highly desired. Management and/or marketing experience as well as publication computer skills are a plus. The candidate must be able to work in a typical office environment as well as travel in a car and/or plane when visiting clinical education sites.

Master's degrees are offered in education, educational administration, and business administration. A doctoral program is offered in physical therapy. Total enrollment is 3,716, with 1,616 undergraduate students on the Bolivar campus, 155 on the Mountain View campus, 215 on the Salem campus and 695 on the Springfield campus.
