A detailed study of the period from c. 50 B.C. to c. A.D. 450. Emphasis is placed on the political, social, economic, religious and intellectual characteristics of the Hellenistic civilization of that period. Special attention is given to the Jewish sub-culture and the emerging Christian movement in that context. Can also be taken for Theology credit.
