| In addition to the certification requirements for the primary area of certification, the following requirements must be met to complete a second area of certification in Spanish (K - 9). | |
Spanish (Second Area of Certification) 24 hours including 3 hours Professional Education courses Either twenty-one hours of Spanish, or eighteen hours above SPA 1124 - Elementary Spanish II, plus 2 or more earned credits of High School Spanish. |

| When Spanish is selected as the second area of certification, the Field Experience Level I (observing / assisting) should be in the Spanish classroom. Additionally, the student teaching experience may include time in the Spanish classroom. | ||||
