Certification in Content Areas
Bachelor of Science Degree
Specific course requirements for obtaining certificates to teach in subject matter areas are established by the department involved in cooperation with the Department of Education. These requirements are based on minimum standards issued by the Missouri State Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
Certification in secondary education consists of completion of an academic major in which initial certification is sought and completion of professional education requirements. A second area of certification is suggested.
Bachelor of Arts Degree
In addition to the requirements for a Bachelor of Science degree, the student must complete two approved courses in the same foreign language to obtain a Bachelor of Arts degree.
