Our elementary education department is a point of distinction at Southwest Baptist University. School districts know when teachers graduate from SBU they will be well prepared to teach in the classroom and be leaders in the academic community. For this reason, a full 90 percent of our most recent graduating class of teachers is already using their degree professionally. Many others have chosen to attend graduate school.

Another distinction is the amount of classroom experience each student receives in the field. From the sophomore year on, students spend time with teachers in the field, learning the ropes, observing and assisting students. The result?
