I am currently an Associate Pastor of Student Ministries at First Baptist Church in Roswell, New Mexico (yes, the place where the alien thing is rumored to have happened).

My communication degree has really helped in me in communicating with my students, being able to identify with my audience, to identify the best ways to communicate with them - and it taught me to be a better presenter, and it definitely prepares you to speak in front large groups and small groups - what could be better for helping in ministry, than public speaking training, I mean outside of biblical training of course.

Students considering working towards a communication degree know that it can and should vastly improve your ability to speak in front of large groups, but it can also help you with interpersonal relationship skills.  Even if your not interested in public speaking, this degree will teach concepts that can make you  a much better listener, communicator, and to be honest, it's just a lot of fun.
