Educational background: Baker earned a diploma from the Burge School of Nursing in 1969, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing  from Missouri State University in 1983, a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1989, and a PhD in nursing from University of Missouri-Columbia in 1989.

Why do you enjoy teaching? " I enjoy seeing students broaden their views of nursing; having them see new possibilities spin to them. Students bring spirit to nursing to keep it vital and alive."
