Education and professional background: Steele received a B.S. in Business Administration and Speech from SBU, an M.B.A. with emphasis in Marketing from Louisiana Tech University and has done additional doctoral study through the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Prior to coming to SBU, Steele managed a small business and served on the faculty at Missouri Valley College. Steele began teaching at SBU in 1990. He teaches general business administration courses online and through ITV for adult learners and the Salem and Mountain View campuses. His professional interests include entrepreneurship and small business management.

Community involvement: Steele serves on the board and is responsible for the development of a ten county region for the American Red Cross.

Why did you choose to teach at SBU? “SBU has a strong business program that encourages and challenges students. It is rewarding to see students become successful in their chosen careers upon degree completion.”

What sets SBU apart from other universities? “SBU is a great place to learn and provides a great Christ centered caring academic environment.”

What advice do you have for prospective students? “Look for a program that is challenging and that will prepare you for success. College can be rewarding and fun as long as you remember to work hard and study.”

What is your favorite thing to do in Missouri? Nature photography.
