Why did you choose to teach at SBU? “Honestly, God put me here. I never intended to be a teacher. In the early years it served as a way for me to get some time out of the house. Later, it was a great job that provided flexibility around my kids schedules. Today it is my passion.”
What sets SBU apart from other universities? “There is truth to the philosophy that we are a family. As someone who came from a large state school, the differences are glaring. Students here are not a just a number.”
What advice do you have for prospective students? “Go to college – if not SBU, then somewhere else. Embrace every opportunity. Go to class.”
What is your favorite thing to do in Bolivar/Southwest Missour? “Bolivar/SBU athletic events, Happy Hour at Sonic, Weekends at Osage Beach, quiet times at home with my family.”
