Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrophotometer
The department of chemistry owns a Perkin Elmer 1600 Series Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrophotometer (FTIR). This instrument contains an improved Michelson interferometer, multicoated KBr beamsplitter and infrared laser light source. The FTIR can furnish an operating frequency range of 4400 to 450 wavenumbers. The FTIR is used by students in organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, instrumental analysis, undergraduate research and independent study.
