Why do you enjoy teaching at SBU? "I enjoy interacting with students and watching them develop competence in understanding phyiscs."

Educational and Professional Background: Chambers earned a Bachelor of Science degree at Eastern Michigan University, and a Master of Science and Ph.D. in Physics from Purdue University.

From 1985 to 1986, Chambers was employed at Vitro Services, Inc. in Fort Walton Beach, Florida as a Scientific Programmer/Analyst. His teaching career began as a Graduate Teaching Assistant Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. He later taught at the College of Charleston in Charleston, South Carolina before coming to Southwest Baptist University in 1998.

Chambers is a member of the American Association of Physics Teachers (A.A.P.T.) and the Astronomical Society of the Pacific (A.S.P.). He is also a member of the SBU Faculty Senate, General Education Committee and the Scholarly Activities Committee.
