Business Finance, Investments, Introduction to Derivatives, Seminar in Economic/Financial Readings, Principles of Microeconomics, Managerial Economics, Management Strategy and Policy

How long have you been teaching at SBU?
I am in my 9th year teaching full time at SBU.  I taught adjunct for 4 years prior pursuing teaching on a full time basis.

Why do you enjoy teaching at SBU?
There are two reasons why I enjoy teaching at SBU.  First, we are encouraged to integrate the Christian faith in teaching within our discipline.  This approach to teaching finance and economics courses offers me greater academic freedom than my counterparts who teach at secular institutions.  This is exciting to me because being a Christian permeates everything I do - including teaching.

The second reason I enjoy teaching at SBU is that the College of Business and Computer Science offers rigorous programs which push students to excel in their respective fields of study.  Upon graduation, our students are some of the most knowledgeable in the country.  The data SBU gathers on its students supports this.  It is exciting for me to be a part of a wonderful group of faculty that assists students to thrive academically.

What are some of your faith dedications (where do you attend church and in what are you involved)?
My family and I attend Wellspring Baptist Fellowship.  I serve our church as a member of the administrative committee.

What is your educational background?
I received my Bachelor of Science degree from SBU in 1993.  I double majored in economics and business administration.

I received my MBA from Missouri State University (formerly called Southwest Missouri State University) in 1996, and a DBA from Anderson University in 2010.
