Current Research Projects: Minatra has been with SBU for just over a year now and has spent most of the past year developing and teaching Internet classes for the College of Business (Salem, Mt. View, Springfield Centers). This fall he has four different classes, one on the main campus (traditional) and three Internet. At this time, Minatra does not have a formal research project going, but his areas of interest are Distance Learning and International Business.

Educational and Professional Background:
Dr. Minatra’s area of discipline is training and development. He was in the military for ten years, five of which were in technical training. He spent five years in Corporate Training and Development for NASA, USAF, General Dynamics, Electrospace and Chrysler Corp. He also spent time as a consultant for Texas Instruments, MEMC Southwest, National Semiconductor, Weber Aircraft and Chickasaw Nation.
He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 1981from Arizona State University in International Agri-business Management. In 1986, he earned a Master of Arts in Education/Computer Technology at the University of Denver. He earned his Doctoral Degree in 1997 from the University of North Texas, with an emphasis in Training and Development/Community College Leadership. He later spent two years at the University of Texas at San Antonio, Management of Technology working on postdoctoral course work.
Dr. Minatra has spent 12 years in Community College teaching and Administration. This is his second year at SBU.
Faith Dedications: Minatra and his wife are members of Second Baptist Church in Springfield. He is involved in the Men At Second ministry.
