Criminal Justice Programs
Department of Behavioral Science
The Criminal Justice offerings provide a basic educational background which is designed to prepare the student for careers in the various areas of criminal justice including law enforcement, corrections, probation and parole, private security, chaplaincy, courts, and research. Theoretical and practical emphases are integrated into the curriculum. Both a major program leading to a B.S. Degree and a minor are offered. Individuals who have received certification upon completion of the 470 hour or equivalent training programs of the police / sheriff's academies and who subsequently enroll in this program at Southwest Baptist University will be granted 14 hours of transfer credit.
