In his fifth year at SBU, Ray Still will look to make a move amongst the top tier of the MIAA. This season, he will push SBU towards a regional ranking and make some noise at the MIAA Tournament.

Still came to SBU in August 2000 as the head women's tennis coach and adjunct Phyiscal Eduction professor. He also teaches a class every year for home school children in the Bolivar area about tennis.

In four years at SBU, he has helped to build a tradition. In the 2002-03 season he guided SBU to a fourth place finish in the MIAA, his best season at SBU. Looking at the 2004-05 season, Still has already made progress as the Lady Bearcats are ranked #9 in the first NCAA Division II North Central Regional poll and he also has a doubles team ranked in the top 10 in the region.

Still graduated from Salisbury State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts, in 1986, and later completed his Master's Degree of Education in 1999 from the same University. He has 12 years at the NCAA level with previoius coaching stints at Oxford College of Emory, Emory University, and prior to that he served as Head Women's and assistant Men's tennis coach at his alma mater. He was voted Conference Coach of the Year twice and helped guide the Emory squad to a fifth place finish in the 2000 NCAA National Championships.

As an intercollegiate player, he received the team's Most Valuable Player award twice and captained three nationally ranked teams. Individually he was rated as one of the top 50 NCAA Division III singles and doubles players for two consecutive years, and was a four time All-Conference team selection. Shortly upon gradution, he earned his USPTA certification and directed a successful tennis academy for twelve years in Salisbury, Maryland.

Still is married to Rebecca and lives in Bolivar, Missouri. He has four children: Jennifer, Joseph, Julia, and Jonathan.
